Giggly Pig
are based over at Harold Hill,
Romford just off of the A12 Junction
with the M25 towards London...they
were over this way at a food
fair...bought a few packs from their
stall...
80% pork from Giggly Pigs own "home reared
saddle back pigs" with a good
amount of rusk (10%) in quality
skins that cooked up beautifully.
We were expecting fire and
brimstone, but we're pleased to say
nothing like that as the balance of
fire from the chilli was very under
control and left you with a tingle
rather than searing heat. We
all liked these very much.
Texture-wise these sausages are
not over minced and we felt just shy
of medium. Good skins, no
splits and a really nice bite.
Shrinkage in cooking was OK, and
weight loss was acceptable too.
Eaten cold, OK, but best eaten hot!
£10.99 / Kg may be as we've said
before a tad on the high side
perhaps but we would justify this
again as
these are a really well made quality
sausage.
All in all a good tasting sausage
that we would buy again.
