What a good store and restaurant. Wonderfully fresh produce and even a "cheese room". Well that's class. Mind you I made a beeline for the butchery to grab some sausages to take to grannies whilst the others nosed about. Good butchery and fresh fish display I will add, and on-site made sausages as well. We're going in...
Picked up some Breakfast sausages that looked very good (and some "Lincolnshires" about which we will write up a review shortly). The plain porks had just been made as it happens...they must have known we were calling in!
The breakfast sausages cooked up really well. Nicely browned and even though the skins appeared quite fine, no splits at all. Good aroma from the pan and no residual oil. Looking very good so far then...
Well what a really good sausage. A decent bite and chew, and a texture just under medium. The taste, yes very good, in fact excellent with mash, onions and gravy. They're not just for breakfast you know...
The Food Company store has a vast array of foodie delights. Certainly worth a visit...
Danny Spence (The Fresh Food Manager) knows his stuff about butchery and produce. He's a really approachable chap, so if you want some advice about meat, fresh fish, provisions etc etc, ask Danny!
