Black Farmers - Premium Pork

Just like the Black Farmers chipolatas, the packaging proudly says "flavours without frontiers" and gluten free.  The chipolatas were good so we'll see if these are too!...

90% pork and a good looking sausage in the raw!  Well on one side at least.  The packaging didn't do any favours here again.  In using a deeply ridged tray to hold the contents in place the ridges again dented in to the skins.  Mind you I gently pressed the dents out and cooked away.  Presentation matters.

The skins used are natural pork casings which is a major plus. Those collagen skins are really not that good.  Anyway we did a pan full this particular time rather than just a couple to sample as there was a few of us here to try them.  They cooked up very well, browned nicely without major splitting and looked a picture in the pan all sizzling together.  No doubt a gallery photo will be appearing soon...

A medium to firm bite and a flavoursome chew we all agreed.  A good amount of pepper and spice gave a distinctive taste. Thumbs up all round. Eaten when cold, spot on.  Unfortunately a small piece of gristle in one porker was a shame but otherwise a very good example of a supermarket packed PREMIUM sausage.
