Sausage Review - we review sausages

Gt Garnetts are well respected suppliers of pork to some well known butchers and sausage producers locally. The opportunity to call into the farm itself for some samples of their own produce was a real treat!

Gt Garnetts own herds provide the free range pork they supply. There's a serious commitment to stockmanship, welfare and animal husbandry of the highest standards at Gt Garnetts and they have been awarded the Great Taste Award Gold Medal for their pork and have achieved the Best Essex Produce in the 2012 Essex Life Fine Food and Drink Awards too.

75% pork in natural casings is what we like! Now we cooked up a sample in the pan for the review (and the remainder under the grill) and OK quite bit of weight loss and shrinkage agreed, but we all said they had a very very good taste. Some good lingering spice in the flavour too.

Chipolatas are not just kids food you know. We did a very good sausage, mash, onions and gravy with the chipolatas, which was spot on.

Definitely worth a visit to buy a few if your over that way.
