Our eldest
daughters boyfriend, Ben, was
visiting the Stamford area recently
and picked up some sausage delights
for us from a local farm shop
butchery! Free sausages to try
yet again!
Ben bought us
the Stilton & Leek which we'll
review here and also, some plain
pork, and some pork & sage which
we'll review separately in due
course.
Now the prospect of pork with
stilton and leek did at first give
me concern as personally I'm not a
stilton lover, but I shouldn't have
worried because the balance of
flavours in these sausages is
excellent! A really good pork
taste, with "just a hint" of
stilton, and a mild leek flavour
make these sausages a winner.
The 75% pork meat and good skins
cooked up really well. A
smooth to medium texture, good
succulence and the bottom line, a
very good taste. Weight loss and
shrinkage were acceptable in our
sample.
