Fuller's (Sheering) - Pork
Chipolatas
The Sheering Sausage from
Fuller's we reviewed last
year was indeed pretty good.
Well now it's the turn of
Fuller's Pork Chipolatas...
I will admit that I didn't
purchase these from Fuller's
direct, but rather from
Brett's Farm Shop in Little
Canfield. Regretfully I must
have bought them on the way
home one day and put these
straight in to the freezer
without sampling, and "sort
of" forgot they were there.
So after quite a delay, here
we go at last.
The chipolatas follow the
same 95% meat mix we were
informed in a peppered light
Cumberland style just like
their bigger brother, the
Sheering Sausage.
Considering the length of
time in the freezer,
defrosted they looked pretty
good, and cooked up really
well. Now we had one of our
senior samplers try these
with us. She lives in
Suffolk and says "she knows
a good sausage from a bad
one". (The sniggering at
this point had to stop)
Perhaps a bit unfair for
these chipolatas to get the
full treatment from Granny
but in her words (in a
Suffolk accent), "Oi like 'em
a lart".
We found them pretty good
too, and they went down
particularly well with
Sunday lunch. Smooth to
medium texture, medium
succulent bite with a light
lingering taste. Just like
the Sheering Sausage, the
taste made you definitely
want another. Good value at
around 22p a go I'd say.
We left half a pack with
Granny for her "tea", so I
must give her a call
tomorrow and see if she had
anything further to say on
these!
Fuller's Pork
Chipolatas...go get and try
some! Proper job! .
