The butcher
had informed us that these porkers are
at least 85% meat and that comes
from his own brother's herd of free
range pigs farmed locally. I must
say they look very good. Good
colour, good natural skins without
any bagginess and a proper firmness
of contents. They do have rusk in
them we believe, so unlikely to be
gluten or wheat free.
Cooked up they're a tasty,
medium texture, very meaty and succulent.
There's white pepper in these we are
sure that gives a really nice taste.
All in a very good result so far,
however there was some weight loss
and shrinkage unfortunately.
Not withstanding that these do
have a really good bite and chew,
and would make an ideal everyday
sausage (not that we advocate
everyday of course) and worked
really well in our sausage and mash
supper.
Pricewise you cannot
argue, 6 decently made sausages in
good skins for just over £4, now
come on!
Would we buy again? Yes
please...we certainly will. Put me
down for a dozen next time.
